It started its life as a regular 1998 Coupe equipped with automatic transmission, dual sport seats, standard painted top, dual AC... But 345 horses were not enough, so, in January of 1999 a Lingenfelter 383 ci package was installed. Cost: $32000 which in addition to the price of the car ($38000), brings the total investments at $70000 in 1999 dollars.
Lingenfelter Performance Engineering (LPE) went over this car from top to bottom right out of the factory.
LPE put in their 383 LS1 A/T Package which puts out between 475 and 500 HP. LPE also:
* lowered the suspension;
* added engine oil cooler;
* aluminum radiator;
* Jet Hot Coat Headers;
* Fikse Chrome Spoked wheels (19" Front & 20" Rear rims)
* Corsa exhaust with Chrome tips.
This car also has 1 of just 100 front hoods ever made from Carbon Fiber and designed with double cowl hood scoops. C5 stock hoods are dull but this hood gives the car a whole new look and emphasizes the flair in the front fenders, echoing the Stingray look from the C3 design.
Car is in excellent condition inside and out. New this year: front and rear tires; alignment; battery; serpentine belt; all new bulbs in front; steering column "recall" completed. Also has tinted windows, blacked out front running lights, Corvette chrome sill plates.
